How to apologise to your partner after an argument
An apology after a fight is easy to turn into a defense. Naming what you did, without a "but", is what lets the other person hear it.
Tonecraft lets you rehearse it first. Describe what is happening, choose gentle, direct or firm, and walk through six turns. At each turn you see three ways they might answer.
A way to open
I'm sorry for what I said last night. It was unfair, and I said it to hurt. I'd like to talk about what we were really arguing about, when you're ready.
Three ways they might answer. Each is plausible, not a prediction of what they will say.
Hears you out
Thank you. It did hurt. I'd like to talk tonight.
Pushes back
You always apologise and then do it again.
Brushes it off
It's fine. Let's just move on.
Your first five rehearsals are free. No card needed.
